Sure Jell Strawberry Jam Recipe

  • Author: Isabella
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 half-pint jars 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A simple and delicious recipe for homemade strawberry jam using Sure Jell fruit pectin. Perfect for preserving fresh strawberries and enjoying them all year round.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 cups crushed strawberries (fresh and ripe for the best flavor)
  • 7 cups sugar (granulated white sugar works perfectly)
  • 1 box Sure Jell Original Fruit Pectin (the secret to perfect consistency)
  • 1 teaspoon butter (optional, but helps reduce foaming during cooking)

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, combine the crushed strawberries and Sure Jell. Stir well to ensure the pectin is evenly distributed.
  2. Place the saucepan over high heat and bring the mixture to a full rolling boil, stirring constantly to prevent sticking.
  3. Once boiling, add the sugar all at once. Stir continuously and return the mixture to a rolling boil for exactly 1 minute.
  4. After 1 minute, remove the saucepan from the heat. Skim off any foam that forms on the surface using a spoon.
  5. Ladle the hot jam into sterilized jars for canning or freezer-safe containers for storage. Let the jars cool before sealing.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh, ripe strawberries.
  • Store finished jam in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks or freeze for longer storage.
