Spicy Hot Honey Popcorn Recipe

A quick and flavorful snack made with freshly popped popcorn and spicy hot honey. Perfectly balanced between sweet and heat, it’s ideal for movie nights or party tables.

8 cups freshly popped popcorn (plain)

2 tbsp unsalted butter (optional)

1/4 cup hot honey (store-bought or homemade)

1/8 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

1/4 tsp sea salt

Instructions

1. Pop the popcorn using stovetop, air popper, or plain microwave bag.
2. In a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat.
3. Add hot honey and stir until combined. Optionally, stir in cayenne.
4. Drizzle mixture over warm popcorn and toss gently to coat.
5. For crispier texture, bake at 300°F for 10–15 minutes, stirring halfway through.
6. Cool slightly and enjoy fresh or store airtight.

Notes

  • Adjust spice level to your taste by adding more or less cayenne.
  • Make your own hot honey by simmering ½ cup honey with ½ tsp red pepper flakes for 2 minutes and straining.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temp for up to 3 days.
